General guidelines regarding temporary export of goods returned unmodified
In international commercial practice there are some situations when Romanian or foreign goods which have been definitively imported, are sent temporarily abroad before being re-imported into Romania, on condition that during this temporary export term these goods should not be subject to any alteration (e.g. export for expositions, demonstrations, presentations, etc.).
Note: Goods which do not come back in the same condition, except for normal wear and tear, are considered under outward processing.
The customs authority should agree a re-import term with the exporter to establish when the goods should be returned or forwarded to another customs destination.
This term can be reduced or extended is the exporter makes such a request to the customs indicating the reasons.
