When can one export effects exclusive of customs duty payments

Foreigners sent to Romania for work or study can export, as unaccompanied luggage, exclusive of customs duties, the following:

  • Goods declared in the inventory list which was submitted to customs on arrival in the country;
  • Books, publications, any kind of recordings, slides etc. necessary for personal use;
  • Goods obtained as prizes awarded from official contests or competitions;
  • Any kind of individual effect with a value exceeding 500 EURO.
